Homeschooling conference offers workshops on using the You’ve been Sentenced! and Apples to Apples word games to teach

March 22, 2011

The Home Education Conference in Oshkosh, Wisconsin will be held on May 6 & 7, 2011. The event, which is sponsored by the Wisconsin Parents Association, is geared toward families that are both new to homeschooling, as well homeschool veterans.

The Home Education Conference offers attendees dozens of fantastic workshops including:

F-11 Learn to Play “Apples to Apples” and “You’ve Been Sentenced!” by Dawn Petersen and Family (Connections Workshop). Dawn explains the workshop this way, “Make friends while having fun playing these classic games that only take a minute to learn and encourage language arts skills. Games recommended for ages 9 and up, but younger kids can be paired with someone older.”

The Wisconsin Parents Association (WPA) is a statewide, inclusive, grassroots organization. It was founded in 1984 to oppose legislation that would have severely limited homeschoolers’ freedoms by giving the Department of Public Instruction power and authority over homeschools.
